RENTAL POLICIES

Our rental policies, are our explanation of what we accept and your responsibility when renting equipment from Alt Plein Air.

Rental applies only to selected items available in store.
A pre-authorization by credit card (Mastercard or Visa) will be required to rent from Alt Plein Air, the amount of the pre-authorization depends on the items rented.
When you reserve equipment with your credit card, payment is taken as a deposit, the pre-authorization will be taken on the same card you provided when booking.
It may take up to 7 business days for the pre-authorization to be canceled before it is returned to your credit card by your bank.
All prices are subject to change without notice.

When booking online, by phone or in store, you agree to pay the rental. At the time of rental, the tenant must present a photo ID (driver's license or health insurance card).

Rental period

A rental period is equivalent to 24 hours, so if you book a Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. you must return the equipment the next day by 11:00 a.m., in the case of a 7-day rental, you must return the equipment 7 days later to the same time.
Are you renting for the weekend? No problem, you can pick up the equipment on Friday afternoon and bring it back on Monday before noon. You will need to select a 3 day period and we will give you the 2 day price.
You want to rent on Sunday, but we are closed, no problem, select the date, the time between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. then the duration 1 day and return your equipment before noon on Monday.

Do not be late

We are committed knowing that you will return your equipment on time. If for some reason this does not happen, we will charge you a daily fee equal to the minimum rental fee. It adds up pretty quickly and we don't want you to be surprised.

Damaged equipment

The Alt Plein Air team have done a lot of camping and backpacking and we know all about the normal wear and tear that comes with use. However, we also know that the type of gear we wear lasts for years and years. With that in mind, tears, stains and missing parts, burn holes and bumps, marks from your pet's teeth, etc. are things we will charge you for. Our costs are $ 50 / hour + repair costs, parts, etc. If it is not possible for us to repair the damaged equipment, we will charge you for it at the suggested retail price.

Cleanliness is essential

The tenant acknowledges having checked and noted that the rented equipment is in good condition at the time of taking possession of it and he undertakes to return it in the same state and on the date indicated on the rental contract. Remember, all equipment must be clean (meaning it is not full of dirt) and dry (wet equipment must have been opened so that it can dry before being returned) . If you do not return the material clean and dry, we will charge you additional costs. Mold can do a lot of damage and we don't want to charge you for it. (CLEANING COST 50H / H, 1 h MINIMUM)

Lost or stolen equipment

When you rent, it is your responsibility to return it to us. If we do not collect it, we must charge you the rental and the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

Cancellation policy

Be sure of your rental dates, as any cancellation results in a minimum cancellation fee of one day
We can postpone your rental for up to 3 months, if you ever have an emergency,
some people book and cancel prior to their rental and this results in significant credit card and administration fees for our small business.
