Technology: Ion exchange and activated carbon. Inside the purifier cartridge, a non-woven ceramic fiber backing blocks particles and gives structure to two technologies: positively charged ions (i.e. molecular magnets) and carbon activated carbon. powder. Since dirty water must pass through the cartridge, ion exchange allows pathogens (viruses, protozoa, bacteria) to be permanently bound. Activated carbon adsorbs chemicals, heavy metals, aftertaste and odors.
Independently tested by a certified laboratory to verify that National Center For Ecological Analysis And Synthesis Protocols 42 and 53 are met or exceeded for the removal of pathogens and chemicals. Meets EPA standard and protocol for testing microbiological water purifiers.
